Wired Brush
Brake Caliper Grease
Ratchet
Brake parts cleaner
New brake pads

At first take a 22 meter socket to remove the lug nuts of your chevy tahoe car tires. After that remove the wheels safely by using both of your hands.

Next you have to take two slide bolts out from the caliper by using 18 millimeter socket. Slide these bolts out. Now take a screwdriver and press it on the pistons and caliper little bit. Just in between the caliper and the rotor after that use both of your hands to easily take off the caliper.

Now you can take a brake caliper hanger and support the brake caliper itself just hook it up on the upper control arm. Just make sure that the brake caliper does not fall. Now you can take the brake pads off with the help of a straight blade screwdriver and pry them off. Next you should take the caliper brackets off by removing two bolts with the help of a 18 millimeter socket.

After that take the rotor off. If the rotor remains stucked on then you should take a hammer and hit those areas but you must careful of not hitting the studs with your hammer. Next slide the rotor off.

Just take a little bit of anti seize and wipe it on the hub surface. Apply nice thin coat of anti seize on the hub surface. After that take the rotor and put on backwards first.

After that apply some brake brake parts cleaner. Just clean the back portion of the rotor. You can use a rag to wipe it off. After cleaning the back portion of the rotor you must flip it over and clean the front portion and wipe it down.

If you want to hold the rotor on then you should put a lug nut on to it. By doing this you can make the task of installation little bit easier. So keep the rotor in place.

Next take the brake caliper bracket and use a straight blade screwdriver and slide the anti rattles clip off where the pad slides off.

After that take a wired brush and clean off the rust that remains on those areas. After that take some brake caliper grease and apply little bit on the ears where the pad slides are going to go.

Now take the new pad slides and line them up by pressing them on. After that take little bit of caliper grease and put nice thin coat of grease on the left corner of the new pad and right corner of the pad .

Next slide the caliper bracket over the rotor. Take the bolts and put some thread lock adhesive on them.

Now torque two bolts to 129 foot pounds. After that take the brake pads and put the brake pads on. Now you will notice that the warning indicator for the inboard pad the one that goes on the inner side is going on the bottom and nothing on the top.

The outer brake pad has both squealers or warning indicators. Now slider the outer brake pad into its position.

Now you need to compress the piston back into the caliper. You can use a piston compressing tool. There are different types of tool available. You can use a ratchet to compress the piston. As you are going to tighten the piston it is going to push the brake fluid.

So push the piston back into the caliper which is going to push the brake fluid through the hoses, through the lines and back up into the master cylinder. Just do the task nicely and slowly. Do not do the task in a rush. Do the task slowly to get better result.

So the pistons are fully compressed right now. Now slide the caliper over the brake pads. Now you can take the two brake caliper bolts and clean the off by applying some brake parts cleaner. Just wipe them off. You will notice that its not too bad.

After that take some brake caliper grease on the guide pins. Now install the caliper bolts or guide pins and torque the caliper bolts to 80 foot pounds.

Now take the lug nuts off and put the wheel back up. Next put the the tire back on and the lug nuts. After that torque the lug nuts to 140 foot pounds in a star pattern or in a cross pattern. So that it will tighten the wheel down evenly. Just go around again and double check to notice everything is right or not.

When everything has been done you must make sure that you have pumped up the brake pedal nicely and slowly. You will notice that there remains a air gap between the caliper piston and the brake pads. So do it until you feel that its pretty good.

Lastly you must check the brake fluid level after completing the whole task.
